Testing for the operating system on the end-user's computer

This sample movie uses the Lingo term 'the environment' to determine the end-users operating system. 'The environment' has several accessible properties via the property list. To understand what properties are available to this list, type the following into the Message Window:

put the environment (and press ENTER)

Note:This movie is made for Director version 8.5 and above. In Director versions prior to 8.5, '#platform' is the only property available to 'the environment'. This property will only display the platform (i.e. Windows or Macintosh).
